Nurse Manager, Child Psychiatric Services - Inpatient

Anna Jaques Hospital, located in the seaside town of Newburyport, MA, is seeking an experienced Nurse Leader for our Child Psychiatric Services Department. Our 16 bed co-ed unit provides short term acute inpatient care to children 4 to 18 years old. The Nurse Manager role supervises, coordinates, and directs the clinical services for the inpatient child unit in coordination with the Program Director and Medical Director.

How You Care for Our Patients 

As Nurse Manager, you will:

• Plan, organize, and control the operation of the department
• Provide support and guidance to team members which include RNs, Mental Health Counselors, Social Workers
• Establish standards of practice, policies, and procedures in relation to nursing services delivered
• Demonstrate clinical acumen in establishment of patient care plans as prepared by staff
• Work with the nursing and clinical staff to ensure continuity of quality care for all clients
• Initiate, define, and update policies and procedures for the Nursing Services Department
• Supervise, advise, and provide counsel to supervisory staff reporting directly to the position.
• Conduct staff performance appraisals and identify goals and objectives to ensure professional growth and development of team members
• Interviews and recommends appropriate personnel for hire and promotions
• Maintain smooth working relationships with other Anna Jaques Hospital departments
• Maintain monthly monitoring of Quality Assurance standards and initiate corrective action plans when necessary
• Maintain the confidential nature of client and business information
• Lead or participate in staff meetings, attends in-service and outside agency training sessions
• In collaboration with their team, is responsible for 24/7 operations for all areas of responsibility
• Develop budgets that demonstrate industry benchmark standards in productivity and performance
• Identify opportunities for improvement in patient satisfaction, staff development, and fiscal management

You Bring Meaningful Experience

Successful Candidates will have the followings:

• BSN required. Master's Level education preferred
• Current RN license in Massachusetts
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar setting required
